If my kids had their choices for dinner, we would always have Hamburgers, Chicken Fingers, Spaghetti, and Sloppy Joes. There isn’t anything better than digging in with both hands and getting mess with a sloppy joe! They can transport you back to your childhood with just one bite. Our dinner rotation needed spiced up a bit. So if we are going to make tonight a Manwich Night we do it by making this Crockpot Sloppy Joe Casserole!

I love how easy this Crockpot Sloppy Joe Casserole is because I can toss it in the crockpot in the morning and we are all ready to sit down to dinner when our busy day settles down. It is important to me to have the whole family around the table for a meal; no electronics, no t.v., no texting, just family! These are a great meal solution for any night of the week that gets your family around the dinner table: Make Tonight a Manwich Night.

The iconic can of Manwich can bring a smile to any kid or adults face. That hearty, sweet and tangy sauce means a tasty meal of sloppy joes is on the way. In this case, Sloppy Joes with a twist. Manwich comes in 3 flavors: Manwich Original, Manwich Bold and Manwich Thick & Chunky.  I love that Manwich is meat free, so it can make a unique tangy sauce for sandwiches, pastas, and more!  Have you even tried adding it to beef stew? All you do for this simple recipe is place about 6 cups of diced potatoes in the bottom of your crockpot.

Top with 1 lb browned ground beef. You can do this ahead of time to save time.

Now top it all with 1 can of Manwich Thick & Chunky, or whichever variety your family loves the most. Make sure you spread it evenly over the top. Cover and cook on low for 8 – 9 hours or high for 4 -5 hours.

When you are done you are going to top the entire thing with cheese and serve with a veggie or side salad of your choice!

Crockpot Sloppy Joe Casserole

Cook Time:8 hours
Total Time:8 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Can Manwich Thick & Chunky
  • 1 lb Browned Ground Beef
  • 6 cups diced potatoes
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • salt/pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a 6 quart crockpot place your diced potatoes. Top with the ground beef and finally pour the Manwich Thick and Chunky over the top evenly.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
  • Top with shredded cheddar cheese and serve with a side salad or veggie.
