Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

This is a family favorite at my house in the winter.  It is hard to find a hubby approved version and this is it!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Total Time: 6 hours 5 mins
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
  • 4-6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 14oz can chicken Broth
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Garlic, celery, etc as desired.
  • 1 (10 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough, torn into pieces
Directions
  1. Place the chicken, butter, soup, and onion in a slow cooker, and fill with the chicken broth to cover.
  2. Cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours on High. About an hour before serving, place the torn biscuit dough in the slow cooker. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.

Do you dice the chicken up before cooking or after? Also, should I ad more cream of chicken if I’m also putting potatoes, carrots, and celery?

Brittany, the chicken will fall apart while it cooks, and if you add potatoes you will want to add a little more chicken broth. :)

This is so so delish! Hubby gave me a high five & said I can make this anytime I want! I cooked on the stove. 1st hr i Brought to a boil then simmered. Then added biscuit pieces and let simmer for 1 hr & 15 min. So flavorful & creamy. Yummm!
