There are so many ways you can cook a hot dog. You can grill them, boil them, broil them, microwave them, but did you know you can crockpot them? There are a few times that this trick has come in handy around here. Crockpot Hotdogs allow you to cook a bunch of hot dogs at one time in a crockpot which is perfect for block parties, concession stands, bbq’s, family reunions, birthday parties, and so much more.

What Size Crockpot?

It really depends on how many hot dogs you are intending to cook. I would recommend a 4 quart or larger crockpot. If you have a crockpot with a warm setting or a timer that would be really helpful if throwing a party so the hot dogs don’t get overcooked or burnt.

If you have a crockpot hot dogs going it makes it super easy to set up a hot dog bar with toppings and more. Everyone can make their own hot dog just the way they like with little work from you.

So the question is, How do the hot dogs turn out? Are they dry? Do they taste good? They are actually really good! The crockpot steams them and they stay juicy and perfect. In fact, it is my favorite way to have a hot dog that isn’t grilled.

Ingredients

  • Crockpot
  • Hot Dogs

Instructions

  • Dump hot dogs into crockpot. No water is needed. The hot dogs will steam in their own juices. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or low for 4 hours. Set the crockpot to warm if you need to keep them warm for a party or other gathering.
  • If you are trying to cook a large amount set the hot dogs on their ends to fit more in the crockpot.
