There are so many ways you can cook a hot dog. You can grill them, boil them, broil them, microwave them, but did you know you can crockpot them? There are a few times that this trick has come in handy around here. You can cook a bunch of hot dogs at one time in a crockpot which is perfect for block parties, concession stands, bbq’s, family reunions, birthday parties, and so much more.
You can even set up a hot dog bar with toppings and a crockpot full of hotdogs. Every one can make their own hot dog just the way they like with little work from you. PERFECT.
So the question is, How do the hot dogs turn out? Are they dry? Do they taste good? They are actually really good! The crockpot steams them and they stay juicy and perfect. In fact, it is my favorite way to have a hot dog that isn’t grilled.
- Hot Dogs
- Dump hot dogs into crockpot. No water is needed. The hot dogs will steam in their own juices. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or low for 4 hours. Set the crockpot to warm if you need to keep them warm for a party or other gathering.
- If you are trying to cook a large amount set the hot dogs on their ends to fit more in the crockpot.
