This recipe is one of those classic crockpot recipes that I couldn’t possibly leave off of the blog for long. In fact, I can’t believe we have gone this far without adding this tasty Crockpot Grape Jelly & BBQ Little Smokies Recipe.
When it comes down to cooking my hubby knows a few things. Number one, he is a grill master. Just ask him, he will tell you. Number 2, are these grape jelly and bbq little smokies! He loves these things! The fact that they are so easy to make is just a bonus! These are one of the first items on our Super Bowl menu every year.
What size Crockpot?
This really depends how many Grape Jelly & BBQ Little Smokies you are cooking. If you are making the recipe as it is written, you only need a 4 quart crockpot. If you decide to double it for a party or get together I would use at least a 5 or 6 qt crockpot.
Tip for Easy Cleanup
It is not a necessity, but it certainly makes clean up much easier to use one of these crockpot liners. I can’t tell you how grateful it makes me just to lift the bag out and toss it in the trash. I love to use these for any crockpot recipe that involves a sauce!
How to Make Crockpot Lil Smokies
In the crockpot, you dump in the little smokies, bbq, and grape jelly and give it a stir. Turn the crockpot on low for 2 – 3 hours. You can crank it up to high if you are impatient. Just keep an eye on them because you don’t want them to burn. When the sausages are done just give them a little stir before serving.
Now you can serve these on a platter with toothpicks or just get a bowl. Either way, these are always a huge hit and usually gone before you even know it!

Thanks for the recipe! My initial thought was heck yes these need a crockpot liner. 🙂 I’ll be making these for the Super Bowl.
These were great. My daughter and I are gonna make these for the super bowl. Thank you for the recipes
Great recipe, my family loves this. My grandchildren can make them and feel good about being a chef. Would they turn out just as good with another flavor jelly?
Apple jelly is a good substitute. There is just something about pork & apples that go together like PB & J.
I remember vaguely from the 80s that apple jelly was mentioned as one of the ingredients. 🤔
I have also used Marmalade.
This was church social staple back in the 80s. It became part of our Christmas Day “meal.” We always did up thanksgiving so when Christmas rolled around, my stepmom was over cooking. She had these in the crockpot, stuff for sandwiches, cheese ball and crackers, more desserts than we could possibly eat, but boy did we try! It was all “help yourself” all day. And the next.
Always loved this recipe!
