Easy Crock Pot Rice

Simple and no rice cooker needed. Try this Easy Crockpot Rice Recipe today for the perfect side dish

I love having rice with meals.  Not only is it healthy but you can flavor it and mix things in to make it unique every day of the week.  I love my rice cooker, but in my pre-rice cooker days, this was my go to method for making rice.  I always seem to mess it up on the stove, but it comes out perfectly in the crock pot!

I tried this just last Sunday when I had 20 people over for lunch. I made a total of 4 batches with 2 batches in both of my 6 qts crockpots. I did find out that it makes a huge difference how long it takes depending on your crockpot, one I had was an expensive one with a clamped down lid and that one got done much faster than the cheaper one I had. It all worked out, I just served out of the one first. Thanks for posting this, it sure was much easier than doing that much rice on the cook top.

      My rice cooker died. R.I.P.

Needed an alternative and suck at cooking rice on stove.

This worked perfect. Took about two hours using a cheap crock pot. Even though my crock is non stick buttered it up and it slid out easy. So definitely recommend that technique as well.

It worked! I did three cups of white, long grain rice and six of water in my 6 qt. cooker for exactly two hours (stirring once) and it’s perfect! Thanks so much for this!

I like to make coconut rice, do you think I can use the same recipe for the crockpot? I usually cook a large amount in the oven and then freeze 2 cup amounts, to be used as needed. Thanks again!
